We noted last week that the hype machine of the Searching for Bigfoot crew had ventured east of the Missisip and north of the Mason/Dixon to investigate, recover, copyright/represent, get some TV exposure and generally hype some footage from Pa. We were nonplussed because of the person involved and what we saw of the video. Note to self, perhaps the root of hype is hyperbole, because that was certainly business as usual on this particular deal. So now SFB has posted some independent analysis, from their “expert”, that the guy probably filmed a very bigfoot like bigleaf(es). In our opinion you are looking at a tent caterpillar thingy (don’t you love our advanced biology terminology). Java Bob is not quite ready to give it up yet, but given the collective duping they got last summer, is that a surprise? At least post facto they publish the contrary opinion, but that is after the media hype and the superlatives spouted by biscotti, and maybe some licensing? Business as usual, nothing to see here, please move along.
Turns Out the Groundbreaking, Possibly Best Footage Ever, Was a BigLeaf(es) or Tent Caterpillars
