2007 was the year of inter-net talk shows for bigfootery. And just like being a “Bigfoot Researcher”, it takes little to no qualifications to become an inter-net talk show host. If your bigfootery ego craves exposure, and you want to take your “Bigfoot Researcher” cred to the next level this is an easy vehicle, – talk shows can be one of your drugs of choice.
The shows blossomed in 2008, the current count is more than 18 shows with every night of the week represented with the exception of Fridays. Some of the shows are actually pretty good, they provide an opportunity for joe “Bigfoot Researcher” to have the chance to speak with some of the luminaries of bigfootery. I particularly recommend:
The Grey Area – Wendesdays at 9 eastern – usually good guests, level headed and planned, you get a sense some thought goes into these shows.
BIP Cast – an ipod delivery type of show, so you are not tied to a specific time – excellent guests.
But back to the event that qualified for inclusion in the top bigfootery stories of 2008. Folks who have read the post about SEX will recollect that a good ol’fashioned bigfootery blow up had occurred in the spring. Things had actually settled down to some degree when four “Bigfoot Researchers”, Steve Kulls, Sean Forker, Bill Willard and Eric Altmen decided to air a rant show in support of their friend. In this writer’s opinion, and that of others, it was a classic case of bigfooterymisbehavior, hypocritical, egotistical, vulgar name calling and threatening. At one point one of the hosts claimed the title of the New Four Horsemen, to the delight of the other three. Needless to say, some reacted a bit negatively to these “Bigfoot Researchers” attempting to take others to the woodshed. Posts and emails flowed in criticism, the New Four Horsemen, having realized they had stepped over and into it, quickly removed the show from archives while defending themselves, including promises to re-post the show once some of the profanity was redacted. To date the show is not available. But some clips were saved, and they can be heard here:
And like many bigfootery snafus, the principles have urged all to get over it and move on. And with this post, we move on to 2009.
